plain VNC is quite slow, but there are alternatives that managed to squeeze some more speed from the available bandwidth, so streamed games at least to a LAN may actually be possible, at least in some cases.RajTakhar said:anyone actually tried VNC
Back in the day on other devices such as Windows CE and smartphone devices - the concept was great but it tended to be slow as a dog, even if the machines were next to each other.
I had tried e.g. NoMachine NX and it did manage quite some speed (probably still not enought to play an FPS, however); unluckely while it is based on a free (GPL) protocol and library, the client is still propietary, and thus not an easy port (there is a GPL server, based on an old version of the library, but is still requires the proprietary client)
