Propane seems like a rather... interesting choice to me. Probably nitrogen? Nitrogen should be cheapest and is absolutely harmless.
But if you would use nitrogen, couldn't you use just air instead (which already contains 75v/78m% nitrogen), which afaik can lead to condensation on the parts you want to get free of fluids ?
Agree. Puffing flammable hydrocarbons onto electrical equipment seems like a bad idea.
It states "highly flammable" on the can. But I would say if you are worried that an (micro) electronic consumer device could ignite a "thermal reaction" in its environment, you should probably not use it anymore.

Nitrogen sure as hell won't condensate, it has a boiling point of 77K. If you use air, then, sure, that's possible.

Not condensation of the nitrogen itself, but the surrounding air. Using air seems more cost efficent as it surely is cheaper to remove most moisture from normal air than destillate the nitrogen from the atmosphere.

I just know they like to use nitrogen for things like that in chemistry labs. They have both liquid nitrogen (which will lead to condensation and which isn't really used for cleaning seriously) and room-temperature nitrogen (which can't lead to condensation).
If your stuff isn't that sensible then I guess you are right, water-less air should be cheaper and work as well. Or even just plain air, as long as you make sure relative humidity is below 70% or so.

If you can't afford a new LCD panel I've got a spare I could sell you cheaper or swap for something?

Thanks for the kind offer, but I have to refuse - I currently don't anything to spare left (neither money nor devices). I'm hoping for my bonus payment at the end of January 2015 to be high enough to have some spare money left to buy a new display.
Edit:

I'm beginning to experience now, how dependant I was on my Pandora, now I am thrown back to my smartphone for my mobile entertainment needs (except reading), and altough I have almost an abdundance of android games (mostly Humble Bundle) available, there isn't much that sparks my interest - there are some board game ports (Settlers,Ticket to ride, Carcasonne) and some (action)puzzlers like Osmos, Waking Mars and threes. I even tried to play some NES games, but as I can't get myself used to touch controls I'm back at the "gamer level" I had when I was a kid, which is quite frustrating.
