Why is it that after I copy files to the SD via USB they don't show up unless I reboot the machine? This is very annoying :(

Oh, this wasn't happening for you? I'm trying to remember back and I think maybe they used to refresh automatically for me. Have you changed anything recently? Maybe started using gmenu2x?

I've noticed this sometimes happens to me now... I've put it down to software issue... very annoying. Slows down my dev cycle.

anyone else?

edit: f200 new batch btw

Yeah I have just started using Gmenu2x. Maybe this is the problem?

This has been discussed recently here

Several options:

create scripts to umount/mount SD
swap SD cards, swap back (if you have more than one)
use external card reader

Personally, I prefer to turn it off and on. Don't want any bad file data. Too many people having to reformat their SD.

I'll have to look at the processes. Must be some automounter or cache daemon doing this.
