I have a 32 gig Sandisk and seems to work fine.

I don't think there is a bigger card than 32 gig right now.

32gb is awesome if im going to pay alot of money i always spend a bit extra for the micro i can just put it in an adapter and i can use it for anything

I'm amazed at what I can fit on my 4GB card. Imagine having a 32GB Card.... whew.

I'm waiting for the arrival of a 32GB from China. $38 off eBay. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

I'll be able to put all of my music (currently ~ 17GB) and videos (~ 13GB"] on there.[/quote]I hate to say it but is it not more likely that you will be getting a fake card?

I contacted several members who've purchased the same item, and they report that the item is working well. I suppose that these members could be part of some vast Chinese conspiracy to take yen from the foolish Yankee, though. I shall report my findings with alacrity. Indeed!

The problem with fakes is not that they don't work but that they fail quickly, have slow speeds or are filled with bad sectors or are the wrong size. It's possible to have a card read as 32gb in it's info but only have a small amount of storage space.

Give H2testw 1.4 a run when you get the card to check it out.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, hope you have managed to find a bargin but you should check it out before you pour loads of data on it.

Thanks for suggesting the H2testw utility, I'll try it out when I receive the card. I'll definitely do that before I start copying files to it (and that WILL be a copy, not a move ;-) ).

Best of luck, Promised Planet. If it turns out to be a fake with a controller lying about its true capacity (I hope that the people you contacted didn't just look at the free space shown by their operating system and assume it was accurate...) though, please consider reporting the seller at SOSFakeFlash, who catalogue these things and provide warnings on confirmed sellers of fake flash goods.

Hi,

Waiting for my wiz to arrive, hopefully tomorrow, and want to know what people are able to get on their SD cards. I have ordered an 8gb card and want some idea of how many games i'll be able to store on it.

Any info on numbers would be great!!

Tomorrow never comes!!

I have hundreds of games on my 8GB SD card, and I only use like 2gb or so. The thing is that most emulators allow zipping of your ROMs, which can drastically cut down their size. I doubt I'll ever need any larger.

However, if you plan on using it heavily as a video or music player, you might fill the card up pretty quickly.

I guess it depends an the games you have on it. If you have allot of CD games such as PC-Engine, SegaCD, and big ROMs like NeoGeo and CPS1,2 8 GB will fill fast. I had an 8 GB and it wasn't nearly enough for those.

Oh yeah, you're right. They're mostly just SNES, Genesis, NES and other small cartidge-based games, so they take up very little space. If you have a bunch of Neo-Geo and Sega CD games, 8GB won't get you as far.
