Two of my SD cards are having write issues. I can read files without a problem, but saving the files is not possible due to no permission to write files. Even trying as root fails. Looks like some data on the sd cards is damaged.

I know there is a way to repair the data on SD cards on Linux, but I forgot the command and can't find it anymore on google.

O.. and of course I have checked the write protection on the sd card itself.

I found it again.

sudo fsck.vfat -a /dev/sde1

It doesn't work :(

A couple of these messages: Writing 32 bytes at 4196800 failed: Operation not permitted

Could it be the mechanism of the write protection is broken? How does it work anyway?

Edit: Solved it myself :) I have put some tape over the write protection switch and reconnected the sd card.

I doubt the write protection mech in the gp2x is broken (but you never know with GPH).

Can you write to it with Windows?

No that was not the case, the problem was the card itself. Already solved it. A bit of plastic tape over the switch of the card did the trick.

Thanks anyway :)
