Hi, been trying to get an answer on this for days and can't find anything on FAQ's, so does it?! I've read that the best place to put it on is in the bathroom, less dust around whilst getting it on?

Nope, and it doesn't really need one unless you have a habbit of touching the screen with sharp pointy objects.
If you really want to use a screen protector then buy a PDA one and cut it to size.

Is it alright in a pocket?

I buy them from play-asia and think they're more than worth the trouble as insurance, only takes one scratch to ruin the dingus, usually roll them on in front of an open window to a freshly plowed field. First time took three of them but haven't missed since. Get it spiffy clean, static may be your worst enemy, maybe spritz of fabric softener or a dryer sheet to stop dust being attracted to it. Got a zerostat? Try to generate some positive ions as you peel back and get just the left edge started then peel the rest off as you burnish it down.

Or go bareback.

I decided I didn't want to risk it, and bought a cheap intec Nintendo DS case for about $10.

I had to cut the plastic out of it (form fitting to hold a DS in place), but it works perfectly as a carrying case! (Next time, I'll order the case with the device)

Good idea, I've actually got a basically unused DS case already.
