Forums like this and others are going to have to get with the times :)

It's now legal to own and distribute ROM images of games that need hardware that is “no longer manufactured or reasonably available in the commercial marketplace.”

AFAIK, spreading ROM links and such is just as illegal as it ever was. The only real effects that the LOC's exemption have are:

1) Emulator authors are protected from being DMCA'ed, and

2) We can make archives of obsolete games for ourselves (i.e. you can't publically distribute them), but only from the original cartridge/disk.

And besides, ROM linking is still against board policy.

ROMS are NOT legal YET!
It's just a discussion at the moment!

Asking for ROMS is also NOT legal.

If you want legal roms, go to http://www.pdroms.de and get homebrew stuff.
If you want illegal roms, please don't ask here.
