the file i get after DVD2Avi plays as a sound file in WMP and is about 1.6 gig VFAPI gives the faked AVI (i assume acording to walk through) so Vdub can handle it but as the convert stage of VFAPI the convert audio box is ghosted. and my Vdub renders no sound. here is the guide i followed

http://gp32.vizionari.net/dvd2gp32.asp

can any one help with this please ?

i believe you're supposed to extract the audio yourself and then use vdub to reencode the two together. its been a while since i ripped dvds so someone back me up on this?

The resulting file from DVD2Avi seems to contain both audio and video and VFAPI has an encode sound option. It seemed that f i could some how enable this option while encoding the combined video/sound file it would work? Do i need an extra step do sort out the audio?

As usual im swinging ape like through these tutorials without reading the parts in bold ... u know things like ..... you MUST select the WAV Audio... option and select the wav file create with DVD2AVI when prompted
