At some point, my Pyra's micro USB 3.0 port was damaged by a fall while charging (don't know who to blame - cats or toddler). It worked sometimes and not other times. I mostly used the other, regular micro USB port (the debug port) to charge.
Yesterday, I tried using the micro USB 3.0 port, and it was charging on my desk at work, and I suddenly noticed the sharp, acrid smell of burning electronics. Now, the Pyra can't really charge anymore. It does kind of accept a charge from the debug port, but it's extremely slow charging while off, and doesn't even register that it's plugged in while on.
In my dmesg, booting with nothing connected to the micro USB ports, I get some repeating messages about USB starting at 4.751974. Here's the whole dmesg:
in case that's useful. It basically sees a new USB bus device, assigns it a bus number, then de-registers it over 2000 times.
I obviously fried something, but even taking the case off, I don't see any scorch marks or burnt components. Something definitely burned, though, and it wasn't the cable. Is it even worth figuring out what the exact issue is? I'm in way over my head.
Is there a way to get it repaired or get a new mainboard or mainboard + cpu board combo (since I know that not all mainboards necessarily work with all cpu boards)?
This is pretty tragic for me, because I love the Pyra, tried to help the community with it as best I could, and was using it all the time to study and learn Python. My only other portable device is a giant, old HP Pavillion DV7t - not so portable!
Thanks for any assistance!
