hello people,

I dont know if this is the right place to post, or whether any body can help me. I used to read this forum all the time when i had my gp32 and I know there are some clever people out there!

I unfortunately deleted my final year university coursework. I , using filesaver sotware was able to retrieve most of it.

However there are some video clips of my final year project (robots) that i desperately want that I cant open. They were recovered at a condition of about 96%.

media player wont open them saying corrupt file and unable to identify file type. Is there a programme that will allow me to open the files, or to view sections of the clips? or there somthin obvious I am missing.

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks for the information. I have using both methods made some progress, however I am still getting the message comes up am I sure its a video file?.
Is there a way I can open the file or make the computer see the file as an avi etc

Is there any way that I can open the end of a file, or the centre?

again thanks for the information.

Well, the problem is that an AVI is just a container for compressed video.
The video coding / decoding is done via a CODEC.

Depending on the codec you used, it is easier or harder to recover a broken AVI file.

The problem is that nearly all codecs refuse to load a broken AVI.

The only way of recovering those files is finding out, which codec it used and looking for repair tools this codec...
