I got mine, and when I first plugged it in, windows asked me to install some software and I said no.

Then it would not work, so I unplugged it and tried again, but it wont ask to install the software again!?

How do I make it work? Suggestions please?

Maybe if you plug it back in, then go to Control Panel, Add New Hardware and select the option for Windows to search for new hardware automatically. This should in theory pick it up and give you the option of installing drivers for it again.

I use an R4 and the micro sd reader that came in the box did not work for me. I now use a SD microsd adapter and normal card reader. Hope you get yours working :)

Yeah thats what I do.

I just wanna use the micro SD that came with it cus it is nice.

I put my micro sd card into the micro sd reader, and then I plugged it into the usb port in my computer, but my computer did not read it or nothing happens. Am i doing something wrong? How do I download the files i need to make the r4 work as I did not get the disc that comes with the r4ds.

Wow guy, what an odd first post and picking this forum to ask in. You might want to be on Gbatemp.net . Those cheap micro sd card readers often go bad, if you didn't get the disk you might have a clone or something too. Most have a light though, does an LED on the reader light up when you plug it in?

Need more information here because if everything was well you should have a new removable disk in My Computer when you plug it in (Assuming you are using Windows)

Try another card reader with your Micro SD and see if that works.

If not, it could be that Nintendo are onto you and have begun disabling the functionality of your PC. There has been rumours that they have started to put GPS devices inside R4 cards so they can track offenders down :(
