Hello!

My PSTwo seems to have died (slimline model). Anyways I have all these lovely game for it; Katamari, ICO, Shadow Of The Colossus etc. Now its been running fine recently, and last night it just stopped reading disks (all of them; black, silver and blue). It says disk reading when I close the top on the navigation screen but thats it. This has happened before but it just seemed to work again after playing around with that thing at the back.

Any ideas or am I going to need a new unit?

I prophesised this many millenia ago.

Try messing around with lasers? The radiation will allow you, amongst other things, to hypnotise cats.

If you go into the browser (turn ps2 on without and disks in, and press x) then put in a disk and close the lid. Does any disk show up.

Ok, with a glasses cleaner, try cleaning the lens.

Do any audio cd's work, out of interest?

perhaps the motor that moves the laser is busted or the laser won't move for whatever reason. but there should be places near you that will fix a ps2...at least around here there's one.

That's why you don't buy a PS2 ever. The lasers just plainly suck big ass grasshopper balls. A buddy of mine has his 4th PS2, because all his old ones refused to read games right after the warranty was over. And there was a severe problem with the first slimline PStwos (v12). The Laser had the urge to just burn out.
