Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

It succesfully imports all of my roms, but then when I try scroll through them all...

It gets down to the S roms and then starts repeating all the rom names over and over again. It's not simply putting the S rom name over top of the real rom name. I can select one and it will be the actual rom name. It's very strange.

That does sound strange, how many roms are we talking about?

I'm considering a re-write of the rom browser at the moment. Since the filesystem is a bit faster than the GP32's and it also supports long filenames there's really no need for all this file scanning.

I'll get started on an explorer interface where you can just browse through directories. It may be a bit slower if you stick thousands of games in 1 directory but it will give people the flexablity that they want.

We're talking over 700 roms here. Figured I'd do some testing for you.

I would go with the flexablity. I like to keep things tidy all my game stuff in a single folder with sunfolders from there for each emu then a roms dir in each of the emu dirs. :)

my 2 cents

Ahh cool that explains it. Just found a bug in my code, currently I've got a fixed-allocated space for the rom details that can hold up to 512 roms. The problem is that the code that scans the files and populates this array with details will try to populate the array with details for every game it finds in the directory. If this number exceeds 512 then the code will just keep going on and overrun the buffer. This has never been a problem on the GP32 as there is no way of getting over 512 roms on a 128MB smc.

I suggest reducing the number of roms to under 512 until I can release a fix.

I'm getting it with over 40 games

any new games i copy into the directory get a duplicated names

I have deleted the dm** folder created when first launch to try and generate new romlist - still the same problem

You sure its not file size related as opposed rom numbers?

I am glad to know that you got your problem sorted out.

I apologize for the sarcasm in my original remark.

So you were being sarcastic but saying you were not? Is your logic so complex that on the surface it would appear illogical but further down it is logical ?

All I was saying was that sarcasm doesn't necessarily imply meaness.

I am having problems with the rombrowser too.

It doesn't seem to display all roms (~130) at first, but when I scroll down (the scrolling seems way too fast, but maybe that is because of the flickering with the 1.0 firmware) all the way until it cycles back to the beginning the missing roms appear, but the alphabetical-order is slightly corrupted.

I can play all games, but it is slightly annoying.

I have an issue with the browser as well.

I ran a game, it sits at a black screen for a while, and I couldn't return to the main menu. So I restarted the gp2x, then went to the rom delete section and deleted that rom.

The problem is, when I got to the rom lister, only 8 roms were listed. The rest were blank entries. If I tried to run one of the blank entries, it would lock up the system with a black screen. Restarting doesn't seem to help as the 8 roms are listed - the other 10 or so have no names.

Aside from this, the actual game playing part of DrMD works really well.
