Out of the blue, I cannot post here with Firefox anymore today.

What happened? Is anyone else encountering this?

Firefox 31 here. :)
Ok, updating my Mint 16 does not work anymore and I had severe problems with Mint 17 (Dual boot didn't work right),

so maybe I should switch to a rolling release soon, probably LMDE.

Switching to another browser after about 10 years of Firefox wouldn't hurt either.

Any recommendations for a browser that has easy to install plugins like NoScript, Adblockplus, etc..?

I'm using Mint 16 too and i have no problems with updates (just did a quick check using Update Manager, and it could check for updates without problems). What exactly doesn't work?

P.S. Posted with Firefox 30

NoScript seems to be the sticker, and is the main reason I'm still on a Firefox derivative. Chrome seems to have built-in controls over what scripts can run where, but I've not seen evidence of it having the same fine-grained control as noscript, and I don't know whether it has the XSS protection and other features of noscript.

Personally I don't use any adblockers, as blocking scripts from advertisers deals with all intrusive advertising (in fact, since few advertisers still fall back to animated gifs, it blocks most adverts as is).

Here it is, but it literally contains only this one line:
#deb cdrom:[Linux Mint 16 _petra_ - Release amd64 20131216]/ saucy contrib main non-free
P.S. Do you need the contents of sources.list.d too?

Thank you very much.

They were identical to mine though, hmm.

You know, on Debian here. And sometimes, after upgrade, I see weird things happening until I reboot and the whole system uses the updated libraries and software. Sometimes things break for a day or two until fixed...
