Post your amateur films here.......

It was an extra curricular project I devised back in school. It is actually adapted from a comix. Just exercise.

This next couple here were more for fun:

That is just a teaser, I never got the time to actually finish it, some 5 chapters of around 5 minutes, it is around 95% finished.

The portuguese text means:

Birds fly

Machines fly

Some man, also fly

I liked the trailer, guns and guns - what could be better :D

I think that setting out to making a trailer is actually more fun than a whole project

Blocked? it must be my unauthorized use of a beasty boys song

What could be better? Low grade kung fu + guns + zombies + cheap parkour + bikini girls.

Yep, trailers and teasers are great fun to do, almost addicting.

I kind like the 5-7min internet series format, should I produce anything nowadays, it will be around that.

Love the stop motion you did there, they are a (hard work) joy to do.

Here is a paper cut stop motion exercise I did once with a poor web cam:

I agree there is a great satisfaction from stop motion movie making, your work is very impressive shame about the camera.

I once filmed a whole section of stop motion with a friend and it was only at the end we realised we had screwed up the filming and had filmed all the bits inbetween and not the actually shot we wanted ( a kind of unstopmotion) So we had a 25 minute film of us setting up plasticine models cutting everytime we took a shot

hehe unstopmotion! But that 25 minutes is worth a lot I believe! kind of a making of.

@monstercameron , you might be interested on Chung Lee (my hero) 14$ steadcam, I love the way he can make out things that work and don´t cost a fortune just because of a brand name.

^^ you could release it as just that . Or make that a central plot told from a found film style .

It looks great quality on youtube. We always film on old VHS and then convert over, it looks great on a TV screen, but when converted and edited it looks really crap.

I thought the steadicam looked fine. I have always wanted to give one a go (sadly they have always been a bit too pricey) I have never used openshot, I was looking for a simple editor recently when I tried to edit 'Wang hard' on 'windows live movie maker' and nearly tearing my hair out due to its over simplified and therefore unusable new version. Openshot any good?

Ah ha thats the link I was looking for myself  will have to give it a go next time we give a film a go.

The unstopmotion was just a lot of talking, complaining and repositioning - Thats another problem with VHS tapes - I have no idea where they are now, lost to the ages :)

Apocalypse training seminar

I like the comments :-

  • thats snapper creek...didn't you get security called on you
  • yeah we did. twice!

What did the security guards do? ... We had some people unexpectedly turn up in a car whilst we were filming in a remote cottage, I think it looked like we were filming some low budget porn film - they made their excuses and left

That was a heck of long sword you got there @monstercameron, haven´t seen one that size yet. The aikido sword a friend has is quite shorter then that, so it seems to me it is a 2 hands samurai one?

About the apocalipse seminar, don´t forget to include more domestic wepons as the broom, the pillow, pool stick, rubber sandals, chairs and many others :)
