I second the reflashing suggestion, if you haven't done so already. :p

Also, just to check: You've got the PNDs where they need to be, right?

Took out the battery and that seemed to fix whatever the problem was, as far as the pnd's go.. pandora/apps right.

Tried Mario 64 recently & that works, after i figured out you have to create the roms folder yourself & leave them zipped (without sound or control won't let me config either within the emu) tried the same thing with Snes9x but it's just not detecting any games at all zipped/unzipped (where exactly are you supposed to put the roms?)

No

pandora/menu

or

pandora/desktop

Link, Actually you can use any of these folders (data from the wiki):

Code:
Folder Note

/pandora/desktop	pnd files show up on the desktop

/pandora/menu show up in the Applications menu (by the developers suggested categories.)

/pandora/apps show up in the desktop, and in Pmenu

/pandora/mmenu show up only in minimenu, ignored by the rest of the system

Klaus, I keep mine in a folder called 'roms' in the same directory as the emulator PND.

I can't help with Mupen64Plus, but I know that you shouldn't be having that issue with Snes9x4P - where did you get the PND for that? You may need to try downloading it, because of all emulators, that's one that just works. (You can put your games anywhere you like, for that one - then you just need to navigate to them).

Snes9x 4p from the app store, but i will see if i can get another version.

EDIT:

Nope, roms still not showing tried in the root of the snes9x folder (zipped & unzipped) & in a created roms folder (same thing)

Get the version from the repo. I'll add the link in a sec here.

I put the PND in /pandora/apps and run it from the desktop.

Seconding vadsamoht's suggestion to grab it from the repo just to be sure. :p

Snes9x folder? If I'm understanding you right, here, have you made a folder for Snes9x4P, in /pandora/apps or wherever it is that you prefer to drop your PNDs (so it's like /pandora/apps/snes9x or something like that)? If so, does this still happen if you put it directly in /pandora/apps instead?

Many thanks for your help Prometheus, i've just reflashed after another 2 complete freezes & so far no more freezing however i now have a new problem, all PND's are failing to launch with the error message "Mounting the PND failed. The application wont start. Please have a look at etc..

Is it possible i'm looking at an RMA here?, the evidence is beginning to.. mount (sorry couldn't resist)

This has been known to occur when you run out of space on your NAND (internal memory). The fact that you've had freezes suggests this, too.

Klaus, try rebooting. There is a bug with pnd_run.sh in Hotfix 5 at the moment that causes that to happen at random sometimes, and what you describe at this point is almost certainly that, especially if you've just freshly reflashed.

If it works after a restart, sebt3 made a PND that will replace the broken version of pnd_run.sh with one that seems to have fixed it for some, and you should probably run that. I'll fetch the link for you if restarting gets it up and running again.

I thought that this had been fixed as of HF5 (source here)

EDIT: Sorry, thought that post was 2010, not 2011. Anyway, there is a pnd_run updater here.

OK, i have rebooted via the shutdown Pandora command in Minimenu & the pnd problem is still there, do i still go ahead with the run updater thing as suggested by vadsamoht?

It can't hurt. It backs up the original in case it makes it worse, so go ahead - it's easy to put it back to how it was without reflashing.

Already tried and it seems to have fixed the unable to mount PND thing, can't for the life of me fathom why Snes9x isn't seeing the roms though, after mounting the pnd i am placing them in the snes9x.skeezix.alpha folder inside the appdata folder, just the .smc's not their own folder or individually zipped folders (should they be) isn't there any specific documentation about folder names/structures etc/

I have left my files as .zip s, in the directory /pandora/apps/snes (because apps is where my PND is, and snes helps me recognise what the folder is, neither is necessary).

You then just have to navigate to them using the interface of the emulator.

I tend to keep the games in a directory named "SNES" in the root of my SD Card, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't see them where you're putting them. Can you just try making such a folder (and putting in a game in it, of course  ) and navigating to that, to see if that works, please?
