Pandora As A Carputer

^ I'm not planning on anything like that at this stage, but that's some good info - thanks. Following their software links, it looks like there are Linux apps and drivers ready to go.

Software: http://www.obd2allinone.com/sc/pages.asp?pageid=60
VCP drivers: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Lots of potential there, and not nearly as complicated as I thought it would be. Pandora and its possibilities =

Nothing's stopping you doing satnav right now, using OpenStreetMap and Navit, for example. Well, except for not having the Pandora yet, obviously. :D

I'm using both on my Zaurus, so the Pandora would be a piece of cake :)
Cool! Looks like I've got some learning to do before Pandora arrives. I wonder if I can learn how to compile something before then. Off to the dev forum I go...

[edit] This looks promising, to say the least: http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/repo/?pkgname=navit :D

The good thing about using the pandora as a kind of carputer is that it'll only require a couple of things to be reallyt good car-friendly
I'm also interested in using mine in the car, so my top accessories/uses would be:
1. have a proper recharger for it in the car. any psp recharge-from-cigar-lighter adapter will do the job (12v->5v, the pandora wall charger is pretty much like a psp charger also)
2. fm transmitter or audio-in enabled car radio, to play the music from the pandora on your car speakers
3. bluetooth gps device to use with some googlemaps-like app
at first, this would be enough to use the pandora without worrying about battery life, have it serve as a media player and gps device :)
