OMG for like the 5th time today my GP2X turns off because the batteries stop touching the contacts. Its like my batteries shrink and when I open the battery holder they just fall right out. Its really pissing me off! Anyone have any suggestions?

Check your inbox, surely you have some emails regarding pills to enlarge your shortcomings.

Yeh, i have had that problem before with other products. Usually because of the size diffrence in rechargeable/non-rechargables (i dont know why though).

I usually fix it by simply getting a little square of aluminium foil, like 9 square cm for instance, then folding it a few times to pack it out. Slip this between your battery and contact.

Another more perminant option is simply to grab a slot-type screwdriver and bend the contact out a little, just be careful not to snap it or anything - they should be fairly flexable though.

My final suggestion is to go to your local electronics store and buy a double A cradle (little plastic battery holder), then wire this to a suitable DC plug end and dont use the onboard battery compartment at all - you can keep candy in there or something, whatever.

Hope that helps.

Just bend out the contacts. That is what I did.

Yeah, like anyone with a GP2X is going to find use for that.

[To the lady of the evening] "I'll be there in a minute. I've almost finished this level in GP Lady Killer."

i did that but when i put the batteries in it just pushes them back to their original positions

How good are you at modding? You could go to Radio Shack buy one on those AA cradles, then pull off those spring contacts. You could then break off the part that now touches the battery and solder the spring contacts from the cradle onto the remaining piece that is behind it.

or just put the spring inside the terminals, behind the strip that gets bent.

I beg to differ - my energizers fit PERFECTLY.. until I dropped my 2x.

Still, I just bent out the contacts. Big whoop.

Allan.
