The FLU and BLU both have an extra layer of screen making them much darker when the light is turned off than a regular GP32.Having never played on a GP32 before my BLU arrived on Thursday, I don't know how anybody could play with an unlit unit, because it is impossible to see with the light off.
The blu hasn't got anything in front has it? It doesn't need to distribute the light with the back light. The FLU and BLU both have an extra layer of screen making them much darker when the light is turned off than a regular GP32.Having never played on a GP32 before my BLU arrived on Thursday, I don't know how anybody could play with an unlit unit, because it is impossible to see with the light off.
THe BLU's screen is almost black with the light switched off (it is impossible to see). The blu hasn't got anything in front has it? Edit: But because it's not a reflective screen I'd have thought it would be darker without the light anyway.
Wow, really? You honestly cant see? So its not like the flu witch was decent with the light off then huh. Well, anyone got any battery results yet ( i know on gbax they estimate about 7 hours on 133)THe BLU's screen is almost black with the light switched off (it is impossible to see).
Switching the light of the BLU off should only be used when listening to music etc...

Yeah me two. I can't see what the craze about all these lights are. The most important thing is battery life. Thats why I bought 2 non lt Gp32s. I get up to 12 hours if I have breaks.Bah! I'm happy with my regular GP32. I can see the screen just fine, thanks.
The BLU does not have anything in front of the screen. The light distributor is in back, hence BACK light. The reason that it is dark with the light off is because it is what is called "transreflective" LCD. PDAs like the Zodiac etc use that and have the same dark screen W/O the light. It was really meant for PDAs where people would complain that their backlit only ones were unuseable outside. The blu hasn't got anything in front has it?
