omap5 looks jummy

We sure have, as I've been in contact about the OMAP5 with TI since February already.

Though first we need to generate good sales of the Pandora 1 :)

Guys, guys.. what's with all the OMAP5 "Pandora 2" talk?

Even if TI gives OPT the green light, it will still be at least a year and a something before a Pandora 2 concept might appear let alone the actual production.

Not to even mention that the current pandora only just recently got the production and shipment stablelized (sort of). I say let it be untill things sattle with the current pandora (Heck, I even hear the device has not even reached it's full potential yet), it's better that we give the OMAP5 and "Pandora 2" idea the time to materilize rather than unintentionally building hype on anything small ED, Craig or anyone else says.

Remember that the thing may not even be on paper yet..

Yes, the 1Ghz Pandora will be around for a while before any total redesign, that's for sure.

If Product3 isn't a success, then I don't know if a total redesign will ever happen.

Agreed! Let's concentrate on Pandora 1 for now.

Most of us realise the pandora 2 is far away, but speculating about the future of the pandora is fun.

Lets hope the Panda1 becomes a big success, because in the future, retail devices will only become more and more closed source, especially with all the dumb terminal services shooting out of the ground left and right.

Devices like the Panda may likely be one of the very few that allows us to store data locally.

Yes, it will be a long time away.

The first public production samples of the OMAP5 will be available end of this year, production starts half a year later (at least that was the plan a few months ago, maybe they will speed up a bit).

However, the DaVinci version will even come around later... so Pandora 2... maybe end of 2013 if we're lucky, but this all depends on funding, etc. as well.

So... GO GET THOSE PANDORAS OUT TO THE MASSES :D

The more Pandora users the merrier :)

One thing is for sure, i got in line as fast as i could for the panda+, and will do the same for the panda2!

Pandora > anything Apple

Well, in that case, i can speculate that the "Pandora 2" may have an additional Quantum Proccecing Unit that may be developed as we speak in some super-secret location we know nothing of. By turn allowing the pandora to run infamously awesome Quantum Algorithm's.

Well my point is: It may be fun, but you can never know what will actually happen.

:p , buts thats not realistic :)

Well, it's not like Quantum Computing doesn't exist.

It does, only at very samll proportions of 15-16Q-Bits tops (i think..) right now, that's where the super-secret location we know nothing of kicks in :) .

True, but thats not enough memory blocks to even emulate pong....

So it would be a huge drawback in features... :p

You could program a dot on it and let it move in 4 directions :)

It would go in 4 direction faster then anything ever seen however!
