Hello everyone I'm a total noob to the Wiz but I've been into MAME and JNes emulation for quite some time, but I'm finding out that the Wiz is a bit different than my arcade cabinet. I was able to get the emulators and the roms into my 8G SD card and everything seems to be working properlly but I've a couple of issues:

First - When using GPSP, some roms would not load up and it just takes me back to the main screen. There are many roms that are doing this and I'm not sure what to do. They are all zipped - should I unzip them and see what happens?

Second - When using PocketSNES, some roms(maybe 12 out of 28) automatically freeze my screen(black)when loading and I've to restart the Wiz in order to be able to use it... Any ideas?

And finally, I tried following this vid: http://gp2xwiz.info/wiz-games-shortcuts.asp and I'm not able to get the shortcuts on my "Wiz Games" folder. I even used his own Sd content: http://gp2xwiz.info/forums/My-Wiz-SD-Card-Contents-For-You--P1295.htm and he has all the .ini files aready there, but even then I can't get the shortcuts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Joey

To get the ini files to show up in the 'Wiz Games' menu they need to be in the game folder on the SD card. (Just put the downloaded 'game' folder straight onto the SD card.)
If you get stuck there's a help page here: http://gp2xwiz.co.uk/wiki/Creating_A_Shortcut_In_The_Wiz_Games_Menu

Cheers, Neil

Sorry, I can't help with the other problems but my Wiz is bricked at the moment. :(

Hey Neil thanks for the reply but the .ini files are all already in the "games" folder of my SD card. They all have the proper structure since all I did was download the SD contents from that site and it had everything already done. After that all I needed to do was add the roms...

I'll email the guy at the wiz info site and see what happens.
Tnx
Joey

If you go t openhandhelds.org there is an app you can install called inimaker that will automatically search your wiz and create the ini files for you. Test it first, than if all goes well, hit select to make the ini files.

As far as ROMs, some games simply don't work well. It seems a high percentage of yours though....give me a list of games and I'll test them on my Wiz if you like.

Hey guys I fixed two of the problems:

The shortcut issue as fixed by reworking the downloaded contents on the SD file.
The guy from "wiz info" had it this way: game -- game -- emulators/.ini.
So I had to move all the emulators/.ini files from the second "game" folder into the first and all worked ok.

For the GBA roms, they all have to be unzipped and saved as .GBA files. None can be zipped nor saved as anything else other than .GBA
What I ended up doing was extracting all the zipped files into the roms folder and it automatically saved them as .GBA files.

Now for the SNES roms, I made a list of the games but forgot at it at work, so I'll have to come back with the info. But yeah, they still acting up.
Tnx for the help!

Not true. All of my GBA games are zipped.

Aye, I've seen a few that will only run if zipped as well.

Reo, not sure why mine have to be unzipped but they do... None of mine are zipped(34 roms total)
Hey they work that's what count!

For the SNES games not working, try compatible vs fast (GPE file), and try compatible or fast (menu). Try all 4 combinations. Try 6.0 and 7.0.1.

Most games will work once you try all that out.

If you don't like your current menus, try Win2X, it has a built in .gpe finder.
