Gpsp Roms Mostly Crashing

I finally received my GP2X Wiz, and the first application I tried, well gpSP naturally!

But, my of my roms aren't working. Almost all of them just quit back to the Wiz menu.
The roms I do get working, are ones that have been patched, like my personal Metroid Zero Mission Hack, a Castlevania hack, and the Mother 3 fan translation. And for some reason, Megaman Zero 4.

Everything else doesn't work, including the untouched Metroid Zero Mission...
I'm running the latest gpSP and I have the correct BIOS, uh, help?

Exactly which gpSP version do you use? What's your firmware version (maybe they ship some new one again)?

Try unzipping your ROMs too.

The latest version of gpSP, 0.9 U6, Wiz Firmware 1.1.0, and all of my roms are unzipped.

I'm certain this is a good bios, I've downloaded a bad bios before.

Gpsp says that my bios ISN'T the correct one and I've never had this problem at all. Very few games didn't work on mine.

However, I'm not running 1.1.0, so maybe that's the problem?

Unfortunately, my system was shipped with 1.1.0, so I've no idea if that's the problem. I'm weary of downgrading too since there isn't a legitimate 1.0.0 downgrader.

I'll play around with gpSP and see if I can't figure something out.

The latest u6 release from notaz works without problems with 1.1.0.

Inexplicably...the very same game that didn't work unzipped, started working when I zipped it.

...What's up with THAT?
If you're wondering why they were unzipped, they have to be if you want them to work on a DS using an EZ Flash 3in1. :)

Just a quick question, has anybody got Pokemon Emerald, Ruby or Sapphire to work?
All I get is a white screen then the Wiz hangs up (or it crashes back to the wiz menu screen), all the other GBA games I've got run fine though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team. This game doesn't save, it keeps coming back with save failed. :(

The pokémon games use savetypes that emulators usually have trouble with.
I haven't tried the games myself, but usually the solution is to use GBATA and do the SRAM Patch.

Thanks, Mystery Dungeon saves perfectly after applying the above fix.
No luck on getting Emerald, Ruby or Sapphire to run though.

You have to zip the pokemon games to run. I had the same problem :D

At last they're all running,

Leaf Green, Fire Red & Pinball all run and save perfectly unzipped.
Mystery Dungeon runs unzipped but needs the above GBATA-SRAM patch to save.
Emerald, Ruby & Sapphire all run and save fine as long as the files are left zipped, but everytime I start one of these games (after the first play) I get this message:

The internal battery has run dry.
The game can be played.
However, clock-based events will no longer occur.

Does this make any difference to game play? (If so, can it be fixed?)

Thank you everybody for your help. :D

Edit: The above error doesn't appear if you're running from a saved game.
I justed saved at the first opportunity and the problem 'seems' to be fixed.
