New Gp32 Mp3 Player

Left it for about 10 minutes last night...trying it again now... 20 mp3s. Not exactly a lot.

<time passes>

Ok, it's been sitting there for 20 minutes now, doing nowt! I look forward to RobertJ's player.

just delete MP3.LST file in your gp:/mp3 folder.
it gets corrupted sometimes.

It would be really great if it had
  • Customisable controls (possibly just a txt config file)
  • customisably playlists (aslo a txt file if not part of the GUI)
  • equaliser
  • Power save mode (maybe just a blank screen, maybe displaying tag info)

i'd be perfectly ok with a text interface. i'm not looking at the screen when i'm listening to music.
i agree. id say the most important things are equaliser and as lower clock speed as possible. i think the pretty interface can b left till last. well imo anyway. and thanks!!!

I would really like a keylock. That's a feature I've not seen on any GP32 MP3 player so far, although it is so important.
When I put the GP in my pocket I don't want any buttons to be pushed by accident, I just want it to play until the batteries are empty.
In my opinion that's one of the most important features an audio player for mobile devices needs (and it should not be too difficult to implement :).

for example actually plays all mp3s I've got properly regardless of bitrate, and does seeking back/forward which is important for talking books), and will include an equaliser, possibly normalisation, definitely quality playlist handling and may also make it skinnable if I can really be arsed.

Even planning on adding a power save feature so it puts the GP32 to sleep if left idle.
Pull these off and you'll be numero uno !

Mp3 directory only has mp3s in it. What format does the mp3.lst file consist of?

Tried an empty file and a file with just a space in it (in case it would be rebuilt) but no joy.

Support for winamp (www.winamp.org) skins would be nice...
Winamp's AVS Visualizations don't look too impossible for gp32 either.

I think the Visualisations would be a bit pointless on a portable. They'd just waste batteries.

Then again, I think they're a bit pointles on a desktop PC too.

Hi !

CDG Karaoke would be great for me. I could practise singing without my PC.

(Hey, it would be a cool thing to make some street music and earn some money ;-)

Greetings

Tobias

NO. that would just waste the precious time of the developer. fucking pointless.

I think as with everything with gamepark i want function over style so even if all it displayed was text on a white background ( beige in the case of non flu :() aslong as it had an equaliser, good bitrate support + some amount of play list editing that would be super especaily if it ran at a really low clock rate ( yey ! )

Hi,

- I personnaly would love to have a clear interface, espacially tuned to be very readable with non FLU screens and a discreet gui that take every pixel of the screen but which is tiny enough to let space for the list.

What I dislike in KY2AA player is that you only see 5 lines of the list and the gigantic gui takes half the screen which is quite useless

I don't want extra animation also, just a neat gui, extra animation needs power I don't want to use ... just the necessary for playing MP3 and skipping them without having to hang up too long between any one of them

- configurable buttons woud be great also

- keylock

- random play

- fadein/fadeout between files

- more file format support (MP3, OGG, WAV, MOD, AAC, WMA, ...)

- minimal file manipulation such as file deleting from within the player

- ID tags reading

Well ... that is enough 'till now ;o)

Good luck

@RobertJ

Good luck on your MP3 Player.
It's been already said but... here is what is the bare essential in my opinion:
1- Equalizer (Winamp presets maybe?)
2- Key Lock
3- Shut down screen after a certain time or after a certain key combination is pressed to save batteries. For instance, you could have an option to shut down the screen 1 minute after Key Lock.
4- A GUI is nice but no fancy cheesy animations such as spinning logos. The original Winamp GUI was perfect.
