From Powerdeveloper.org, Genesi's official developer forum:

This email was posted to all imx51 Project Developers today...

Hello!

You are receiving this email because you are either a PowerDeveloper or a member of the Linaro Team and you have received complimentary Efika MX hardware from Genesi.

New Genesi hardware is on the way! The new Efika MX products are based on the imx53 from Freescale:

PowerDevelopers: Please update your Project Blogs!

http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/program/imx515

Linaro Team Members: Please see Konstantino Margaritis at the Linaro Developer Summit in Budapest, May 9-13.

Priority will be given to those that have participated in PowerDeveloper Forums and posted Project Blogs.

Also, please let us know if you are interested in using the existing imx51 based hardware to establish an ARM Build System such as recently done by the Fedora Community:

Finally, Genesi is a proud Sponsor of the Freescale Technology Forum 20-23 June.

We will be hosting a couple of special events at FTF 2011. If you plan to be in San Antonio and you would like to be included, please let us or any of the Genesi folks copied on this email know.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Raquel Velasco & Bill Buck

As you can see, new Efika hardware seems to be on the way. It looks like the IM53 will still be based on the Cortex-A8, but could feature faster DDR3 RAM, with the potential to reach up to 2GB, SATAII capability, and many other features. All in all it seems like it will be a fantastic improvement on their current line. Unfortunately no specific hardware information has been released yet, because the company is waiting for the Freescale Technology Forum, taking place on June 20-23rd. After that, hopefully we'll hear some news about what these babies will really be rocking. There's also a mention of an Efika tablet in the linked topic. Sounds like good news to me. What are your thoughts? Is anyone else here thinking of buying one of these.

(By the way, these things seem to have full flash player support. Just wanted to throw that out there. ;) )
