since i've switched to linux on my desktop music on console has been my favorite media player (amarok is really nice too, but too heavy and tied to a media library/database).
moc has a lot going for it
-ncurses[url] interface (displayed in the terminal)
- the interface isn't tied to the playback engine so you can leave songs playing while you go do other things, then re-attach the interface
- has an intuative built in browser and playlist
- moc allows you to define custom keys
- plays so many formats, based on playback libraries
the project seems like it could be ported, but i'm to newb to recognise any red flags or road blocks. thoughts, input?
