Ok, so instead of trying to decide on the absolute best slogan... Let's pick say... 10, and break those down into appropriateness regarding our different target markets. Perhaps we should decide how many Target markets we have? ... And make sure we have at least one solid slogan for each of them.
I think, given the unique versatility we're looking at, that this is probably the best idea. :p (Although I think that as a catch-all, "Take the Controls" is ideal.)

As Neelix said on the previous page, "The Future of Retro", for example, may not be ideal across the board, but it's absolutely perfect for events like Replay (or, dare I say, magazines like Retro Gamer, too). Meanwhile, slogans like "Outsmart Your Phone" fit in with administration and business use quite nicely.

So:

  • General: 'Take the controls'
  • Retrogaming: 'The future of retro'
  • Pda/desktop/etc: 'Outsmart your phone'
  • Media player: '?-?-?'

Or something?

Yep, exactly. It's different things to different people, so why shouldn't a choice of slogans reflect that? :p

Media player:

Your complete solution, anywhere.

Hours of entertainment, no plug required.

Any media, anywhere.

Content without limits.

I'm going to throw in my tuppence now!

"Small box, big dreams"

or simply

"Dream big"

Isn't the main thing with the media player the sound quality

i.e. an iProduct can play music, but any audiophool would have a gibbering fit at how badly it does.

A while back someone said Pandoras were better than some cowon stuff!

Well defined sounds, loads of headphone driving power, plays everything, huge battery life (when someone gets power management sorted).

Unrivaled sound, unlimited content. Unplugged.

??? :-||

EDIT: (shorter) Unrivaled sound and content - Unplugged.

I love this one.

Though, it is a sad testament to the sort of dummies I've come across throughout my lifetime that I can almost imagine someone showing up here to complain that it won't power on, only to later discover that they've never bothered plugging it in to charge it.

In all honesty, someone like that has no business buying a Pandora. ;)

Open Pandora:

'Intelligence not included in box'

Multiple use cases as suggested by others is a fine compromise. I don't know that we have anything to say about media but flaunt the battery life. The gorgeous sound alone can't carry a phrase, but perhaps I am wrong on that.

Some more attempts:

*Play the day away

*Discover real temptation

*Freedom you won't forget

'Play the day away' I think is the best of those, but still doesn't nail it.

This is a tough one.

Edit: Quality vs Quantity: why compromise?

Perhaps a bit long...

Pandora:

a) The Power within

b ) Behold the power

c) Open the Box. Open your mind

d) Reveal the Power

Careful! The Pandora doesn't look powerful on paper, It just puts what it's got to great use.

still can't think of a neat one for Pandora as media player...

Slightly better:

Quality vs Quantity: why choose?

Pure satisfaction

Sounds brilliant, doesn't it?

Feel the difference...

An experience like no other.

12hours+ of first class sound...

You'll need recharging before it does...
