Monster Fever Pachinko From Ruckage

Wow looks cool. Some of the nicest looking homebrew.

i take it this means that the fenix runtime is wiz compatible? (sorry if this has been answered before, i'm quite out of date :( )

Yeah is already been ported, GPH has sent WIZ's to select people to get it working.

This game looks nice and shiny, but what exaclty is the point of the game?

Funny, some days ago I thought that there could be some kind of Pachinko Game for the GP2X...and now we will get such a thing. :D

Are there already Pachinko Games (with realistic physics) for the GP2X? ^_^

Hey, nice to see this got spotted :). I was planning to do a post about it once the game was more complete. It's kind of a mini project but a fun one so I might make more. I'm not really sure how popular this will be as its an aquired taste and lets be honest lacks gameplay as player interaction is minimal and basically boils down to luck. For those who don't know about Pachinko here is a link to a wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pachinko
The physics in my version are completely fake with lots of cheating but I think the overal result doesn't look too bad.

Do you simply set a random direction (left or right) of the balls on every pin? ^_^

Well, I've never actualy played a Pachinko Game but I find these Machines (known mostly from Asian Movies) very interesting. Million japanese people can't be wrong. :D
Want to test such a Game onto the GP2X, maybe there could be more than one Table (maybe Tables in GP2X Portrait Mode to? ^^"" )

It's a little more complex than that, there is a certain ammount of randomness added to the movement of the ball to simulate the tiny variations that affect a ball in real life but it isn't completely random. I spent quite some time trying to get the movement as realistic as I could which without real physics took some trial and error. I also find these machines fascinating which was my main motivation to make this. oh! and this is played in portrait mode on the 2X/wiz :).

Nice. Can't wait to put my hands onto this game. ^_^ I play so many stressful Games onto the GP2X, a little relaxing "watch-the-tiny-balls-falling-game" would be a perfect variety. :)

Looks great as always. Never heard of Pachinko but sounds like it should be fun. Good choice deciding to release it on both Gp2x and Wiz. Will most of your future projects be released on both handhelds also?

Wherever possible yes, it makes sense as they share the same resolution and because I'm coding in fenix porting is a doddle. Some of my future projects will take advantage of the new features and extra power the Wiz has so may need to be cut down a little for the GP2x or in some cases released just for the Wiz but I won't be forgetting the good old GP2X. Of course once Fenix is ported to Pandora my games will be easy to port to that too. If/when I'm able to get a Pandora I may also optimize many of my game to take advantage of the higher resolution.

I love pachinko, own two machines myself. to people who don't know, ever played peggle? pachinko is like that, only way way more simplified, and extremely fun. is there any way I can donate to help you to get a pandora for possible porting?

That's very kind of you, If you'd like to donate something to me you can do so via the paypal link on my website - http://www.muddymonkey.co.uk/
And I'm very jealous, I hope to get a pachinko machine myself sometime :), what machines do you have?
