Hi
I jus purchased a new GP2X and im having some problems, i a bit of a n00b so im not quite sure what to do. Ive had it about a day, but the thing just keeps crashing at random, whether im playing games or whatching movies the screen just whites out. It never seem's to stay on for more than 10 minutes. Ive put fresh good quality battries in (cant try the mains power, it hasnt arived yet) but makes no differnece sometimes it wont go past the loading screen it just goes all funny colours. Also when ive put new batteries in and it manges to load up I look at the battery level in utilities and it reads as empty! or if it does say full it stays that way for a couple of seconds then goes straight to empty!
I really dont know what to do so any help will be welcome.
Thanks!

get batter batterys, 2500mah+ nimh rechargeables are preferable, it wont last long on non rechargeable batetrys.

If you are using normal batteries then that is your problem or maybe your charger is bad or your batteries have been through way to many charge cycles.

OR but HIGHLY unlikely, your gp2x is just broken, but I would not point that finger just yet.

I second that advice. Both the Gp32 and 2x are quite "demanding" about batteries, and you get some really odd results when they are low. Go with the 2500's and see what happens. H.G.

LOL. Where do you live? :p

Definitely go with higher power batteries first. You need rechargables at 2300 Mah or above. I would suggest 2500. I get a good few hours out of mine and always have another set ready to go!

Yeah, sorry should have worded that better
Thanks for the sugestions Ill give them a try, and wait for the mains lead to arrive, for a proper test, it just seemed weird that brand new batteries would go flat 30 seconds after the thing was turned on.
Just hope its not faulty!

Its not faulty, mine killed brand new Duracells in 4 minutes flat. The batteries came out hot and empty. You simply need really good batteries, I'm still waiting for mine.

What ? 4 minutes I got more run time than that with the cheap batteries you get with the GP2X!
