What intrumental jazz tracks are good?

Im not familliar with the genre but want some music to chillax to!

Cheers.

I'm not hugely knowledgeable about the genre myself, but I do enjoy the classics. Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, etc. I have to be in the right mood to listen to jazz, otherwise I have a tough time paying attention to it and good jazz demands attention.

There's a lot of instrumental jazz that are great!
Perhaps you should give us an exemple of what you like because Jazz is a really wide music.
It goes from rag, "classical" jazz, US westcoast style, bigband jazz, freejazz, acid jazz etc...

im not really sure....

I dont want lyyrics, just the music.

I think free jazz.

And acid jazz sounds good.

Just something that i can put on in the background and not have to concentrate on.

Perhaps to sooth my ears from the screaming i listen to normally :p.

Hope thats a bit less vague!!

Freejazz could be hardcore. Search for some Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, Joe Harriott, Archie Shepp, John Coltrane materials for exemple.
Frejazz is also oftenly associated with improvisation jazz.
Acid jazz is a more modern dancing style: The brand new heavies are well known for that.
