Came to use my mains adapter the other day and some retard* had switched it to 9v without warning me. So now i have a completly dead and slightly burnt smelling GP32.
So now i'm wondering if someone has a GP32 with maybe a smashed screen that i can use the main board off. If not I may consider selling the spare parts(case, buttons, screen etc).

*Quite likely me.

You can fix this simply by replacing a particular component. Search the boards for help

I did that to a Sears Pong unit my dad had. I thought that if I changed the switch on the power adapter, it would turn into an NES. (I was about 4) It's really sux because I could probably fix it today if it wasn't thrown away :(

sam fishers probably got a shitload of broken GP32s, just check with him

although watch out, we have recently found out that Sam can no longer post things properly, so u have no guarantee of getting it.

Whether you can fix it depends on what got fried.

You should be able to use the board of the other GP fairly easily. Just need to unplug everything off the boardm, and desolder any FLU bits (two points on the board). You can then just swap the boards, and all should be fine...

What I find remarkable is that Gamepark didn't bother to put a voltage overload protection in it. I mean, they know that people are going to use adaptors which need to be set to a certain voltage, because they didn't supply an adaptor themselves. And it's only a small component...
