I Was Jsut Wondering

I saw an ad in the romnation site. That place has a lot of stuff

No links :) Even though, I guess the name is OK.

You know it hadn't really registered to me the first day someone asked me where i found out about the GP, I just rattled off some simple explaination like I saw it on Lik sang...

But I now recall the full details. I was looking into portatble video players, At first I looked at the Arcos but it was 500 dollars at the lowest price I could find and there where lots of consumer reports that it was flimsy and would break easily, there was a second player but it wasnt very user friendly and had a higher price... then I found out about the GBA video player.

I'd found out about the one that currently exists that uses a compact flash card and was concidering buying it because I already had a 256mb card I wasnt using (the camera I bought it for was a peice of crap). I went to Lik Sang looking for more info on it like pictures or reviews and mis-clicked and ended up on the front page where I saw the GP32 prominantly displayed in the top left of the screens major links.

The colorful screen and nice design in the pictures made me curious to know more, I discovered the comercial games where few in number but some were intersting looking, but I also discovered the Emulator and homebrew scene that existed for it at that moment.

The thing that really intersted me was the video player because looking at the GBA video player before I felt that with a larger screen and a front lit unit it would be a much better purchase than the GBA player because of the extra added value in it's emulators.

After searching some of the community sites and seeing som much activity because of the last contest I decided that it was worth the price of admission so I set about finding the best price for a FLU and I haven't felt let down yet.

:)

Hmm.... it will have been around November 2001 I think.... I was ordering a DC broadband adaptor from Lik-Sang and saw the newly advertised GP32.... looked at it... saw some short reviews of the games and said 'Thats going in my order' :-D

I was trying to finish my UK NGPC collection at the time, and never got round to getting every single cart (still about about 8 short; mainly the gambling and early b/w releases) because of the cost of the GP32... still, it was worth every penny.

OMG! I found the thread! Here's the thread which clarifies where I heard about the GP32! And it also contains all my n00b questions about it! I had never heard of GP32X at the time so I couldn't read any FAQs or anything and neo-geo.com was my main forum at the time.

Wow... that was kind of fun reading. Wonder who ever grows tired of the GP32 after 4 hours and decide to sell it.

some boasting person I know had one, and to shut his yap I decided to get one too :p still owes me manga tho

anyway, I got to know a person here who wanted to trade his GP32 for my Cube, and so I did :) insured shipping cost me 40 euro tho since I'm from belgium and he lived in the UK :/ never doing it ever again!

I read about it on lik-sang, while ordering a pre-modded GBA (afterburner). A buddy of mine took the plunge and bought one, then badgered me until I ordered mine (LOL).

I found out about it on official nintendo boards :p Of course when I refredshed the page, the post was already gone :D If I was a few seconds later, I might never have gotten the GP32 *shivers*. After that I did some research, and decided I wanted one. My mom made me wait a week before I could use my own money to get one . But at least that gave me time to hear the rumors about GP32 FLU. I was going to get a FLU, but seeing that it would still be a few weeks, I ordered a regular one. I got an e-mail saying that the regular ones were out of stock and would be re-stocked about when the FLU was. I upgraded my order to FLU, and patiently waited. Finally I got a GP32, but it was non-FLU :( I e-mailed, so they quickly sent me a FLU instead :) It came the next day, along with my SMC card from Amazon.de. For some reason, registration was a 10 second thing for me, not these week nightmares that peopele have all the time attempting to get it to work

it pisses me off when parents do that...mine do this ALL the time! its my goddamned money! let me spend it how i like! <_<

like when i was getting my ps2...i had the money, and i had them (the local used game store) save it for me, she got sooo pissed when i asked if we could go pick it up...i was all like "WTF?!?!" and she was all like "STFU!" then i was all like "PSH!" :D i mean REALLY, my sisters friend (and kinda my friend) took me to the used game store so i could trade some stuff in for credit a couple days before that and surprised me by getting me final fantasy 10...how many people would be able to wait several days to play that (WITHOUT pissing yourself...)? i did, and it was HORRIBLE!!!
