I always re-encode my videos to dimish the video size
And I think that it used to work better when AC-connected, but not sure..
I use mencoder in Linux (my cpu is 99% of the time running linux), I don't think that PocketDivx have a Linux version, but I'll try it under windows if people is really getting better results..
anyway, when I run gp2x's mplayer, it says:
"too much gap ===" every proper gap in the movie (sometimes the message reads 2 or 3 times in a single long gap)
having to install a specific program for a specific OS is really NOT what I call compatible/flexible for a console which claims to play almost any video downloaded from internet without having to re-encode (I don't recall where I readed that, but I think you've readed that too somewhere else), so if you want to say that gp2x is a good video player or want to believe in santa claus, it's up to you ^_^
