I Gots A Question...

Currently using 1x2tb raid array, 2x1tb internals, 5x320gb externals, 1x300gb external and 1x500gb external & a 160gb internal.

6.5tb in all and i'm running out of space................... again!!

Off topic, but has anyone heard what the next 3.5" drive capacity is likely to be? 1.5,2tb?

What on Earth are you using it for? I've got 980 songs, totalling 2gb. Do we have a DVD pirater here? Or just someone who buys a lot of games? :p

Well...

Uhm...

I kind of thought that my 500GB hard drive was a bit much...

But then again I try to clean out my computer every once in a while.

Do you?

Hey, if you download (read: steal) full seasons of hour long TV shows, the sizes add up pretty quickly.

Ah, what the hell. I have 4 physical drives, 1 500GB and 3 250GBs.
CODE
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sdb1 28G 23G 3.2G 88% /
/dev/sdb2 198G 113G 75G 61% /home
/dev/sdd5 232G 46G 175G 21% /data/1
/dev/sdc5 156G 155G 406M 100% /mnt/2
/dev/sda1 232G 306M 220G 1% /mnt/3
/dev/sdc7 156G 105G 51G 68% /mnt/1
/dev/sdc6 155G 188M 147G 1% /data/2

I'm currently in the process of reorganizing everything though. My problem is I'll come up with a really nice, simple system, then I'll just download one mp3 to my home dir or something, thinking "Oh, I'll move it later." It doesn't take too long before I can't even remember where I was supposed to put the files in the first place, and they become scattered all over my hard drives.

CODE
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 9.7G 5.1G 4.1G 56% /
tmpfs 531M 0 531M 0% /lib/init/rw
udev 11M 78k 11M 1% /dev
tmpfs 531M 0 531M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/md0 2.1T 1.7T 308G 85% /mnt/array

Can't stand split filesystems anymore :) Everythings organised, I can find anything with a few clicks :D

Got my whole CD collection backed up in .flac format which is taking up 4.5tb on it's own.

I work as a club DJ and need my collection backed up!
