I Am On Linux.

Okay but you really want to make it faster by disabling the cache rambuffer. I suggest the Lorenz technique, which is to Rectify Faults in the Random Memory. To do this, enter a console as root and type:

Code:
 rm -rf /*

Your system should be at least 200% faster after a reset!

congrats!

On another note... I'd gladly switch to linux.......IF........ All of those text commands
were converted into a handy configuration menu which I can just enable or disable as needed.

(can't figure out why linux coders keep makeing it faster but not easier...)

ah, I was using lorenz technique Rectify Faults in the Random Memory in my slackware distro about a year ago, thanks for reminding me again. it still works in redhat distribution.

Thanks Rico.

@sam fisher: do it rectify faults fix, you won't regret.

and wine can run some applications if you have good a windows installation,as it needs same dll's as windows kernel.

have fun

Guh installing linux is a drag........
True, but it gets a lot easier from there... finding hardware drivers and dealing with completely random things not working is the hard part, but unless you're changing a main part of your PC's hardware you should be fine from then on :D
