by software?

Thanks

Hi SaS,
I can't give you a software solution but may an easy way by hardware.
Why not simply getting an old 3.5 mm plug and cut the leads (or an adapter)and plug it in?

probably unloading some kernel moduls helps, too, but i have no idea what modules are used for sound though and if it's even possible without brick-risk :)

Wot sound architecture has Wiz? ALSA, PulseAudio(yeah, stupid idea, but who knows), OSS or ESD ?

The sound system is OSS, and the driver seems to be built into the kernel? (ie there is no module to unload).
