Hi.

As recommended, during the first charge, an OP battery must be loaded for some hours.

As there's a protection now, how to re-enable it for this purpose ?

Not sure what you mean. The suggestion for first use is to just fully charge the battery before you use it: plug it in and let it reach 100% before you unplug it. That's it. No need to overcharge, overcharge is always bad.

You mean "Charge your Pandora 8 hours before disconnecting it from the wall"? Not sure why it says that. 4 hours should be more than enough, even charging from completely empty. There's nothing magic about 8 hours, just so long as it is fully charged. Even the fully charged thing isn't actually necessary, it's just to make sure you aren't trying to use it if the battery has run very low in shipping.

Ok, so what should the wiki say ?

Something like charge to 100%, or charge as you want ?

Edited :

Fully charge your Pandora before disconnecting it from the wall charger. This can improve the lifetime of your battery. To charge the Pandora, insert the power cable end in the Pandora and the other end into your wall socket, then wait about 4 hours.

...

Note that if your battery shipped really discharged, you may have to way a few minutes before the Pandora power on.

Wait, do you want to re-enable trickle charging? That's the impression I'm getting...

Trickle charging should have never been used for the Pandora in the first place. It uses a lithium-ion polymer battery. This type of battery simply cannot accept an overcharge without exploding or burning. One such case of this happening is documented on the wiki.

Besides that, isn't it also the cause of the bulging battery problem?

Just for first charge. Linux-SWAT was under the impression (thanks to a bit of misinformation on the wiki) that you needed to charge the battery for 8 full hours before use when really it should have just said "charge to 100%".

And technically even that isn't necessary, it's just there as a dummy warning to make sure it's plugged in while you're going through first boot. ;)
