Not really. You need to be super user to chmod, right? If super user is telling the system it doesn't want to be asked for a password anymore, who is system to argue? In order to not need a password, you need a password, so it's not like some clever schmo who gets his hands on your Pandora can execute privileged code.


It does seem strange that op_power would require a password where op_wifi does not though. I wonder why the difference? Mere oversight perhaps?
 
from what I have heard in IRC there is a whitlist of commands set up, any command on the whitelist does not require a password, it is not a bug or a quirk.


where the whitelist is I do not know but if you as in IRC you might find out.
