I downloaded a skin, formatted my SD card, put the contents of the skin zip file in the root of the SD card, hold Start+Select during boot and same old skin is there...what am I doing wrong?
(I dont see any firmware update screen)

I believe that most of the skins have a utility script that copies them to the appropriate place. When I installed the apple ones it did. What skin's are you trying to load.

I dowloaded the default skin, loaded up all the background .png files on photoshop, edit them using my own backgrounds, overwrite the .png files & tried to do thw whole firmware thing (Select+Start at boot up)

I think what Alex suggest is to use the utility script that comes with any skin you could find on http://www.gp2x.de and use it to load up your own skin, juse replace any images, put in right dir and file name, then run the script...

The explantion is part of the skins documentation. Unzip to SD drive, run untility script (go to utility, search SD drive, press joy stick or B on utility script, wait on blank, when screen comes back your done).

thanks for the help everyone, I managed to make my own skin :D, I made a youtube about it...
