Clang

Kickstarter (ended): http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/260688528/clang

Steam Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=132179846

The first real swordfight simulator with traditional techniques and kind of a Wiimote control.
The controls have to be optimized, but the techniques that he is demonstraiting are in fact
traditional german martial art after the Liechtenauer tradition and what we do in my group,

although looking a bit clumsy because of the alpha stage here:

I'm looking forward to see more fluid controls and more weapons like Langes Messer and Speer/Stab.

Oh guns are dangerous ?   :p ;) That is actually pretty cool and I support the keeping alive of traditions ( no ... practices ... what should one call them ) Any rate it's pretty cool . :)

Another Kickstarter Vapourware.

He claims the development team has disbanded, and that refunds totaling over $700 have been issued to all backers who asked for them. The project originally raised $526,125 via Kickstarter in the summer of 2012, narrowly achieving its $500,000 funding goal.
What a douchebag.

Dammit, another prommising looking project bites the dust. What a shame, Gabe Newell even bothered making a cameo for it's support.

I'm not into HEMA personally, but i always liked the possibilites of how such martial arts could work out as great Video Game mechanics.

Well i think first you would need a proper sword-like controller for games (similar to what Clang was trying to create), then it all depends on what type of combat you want to implement. If it's something accurate to fights like in that video, then i think it may work better with something like a simulation on an Oculus Rift. Although i think in theory something as interesting may be pulled off with a VR game similar in style to games like Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.

But if you take into account that the avarage player might have little to no skill in HEMA, i was thinking that maybe games could use basic sword manuvers in order to triggure a lot more (somewhat) realistic corresponding attacks in-game, similar in style to what's seen in games like Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor or maybe even The Wticher 2. Also i think you could use it for other types of combat (like swinging a sword from a horse like in Mount & Blade: Warband) or maybe even for in-game tasks (like choping branches of wood while exploring a thick forest or something).

Though tbh, all of it is just a fancy theory, i didn't see anyone trying to pull off something like this yet.

Bad news, Kingdom Come: Deliverance isn't likely to arrive on Linux...

It's the first one that doesn't do bullshit combat.
