Help Pc Restarted

Ok. Contrary to popular belief that i am as thick as shit i have discovered the problem was the sound card and have taken it out. It may just be the PCI socket. Ill try putting it back in tommorow.

Ahhhhhh yes. I was going to suggest that, but I never actually had the PC unable to start completely - only the BSOD right when the operating system tries to boot.

It's an IRQ conflict. Swap around your sound card until your MB likes it again.

i doubt it very much, Unless you rubbed a balloon on your head, Scuffed your feet on a carpet and rubbed your hands all over a switched on tv.

Although the odds are low, I suggest for important things like, say, motherboards, you should make use of an anti-static wrapper.

i have to admit i had a similar problem it took me about a week to realise that the mother board was broke and cus it was so old i had to replace almost everything nice cus i got new components but expensive with lots of visits to town and the local pc hardware store :( :)
