Have I just bought the wrong GPU/Ram for my Mobo?

Apologies if I'm not making much sense, it's been a long week so far..

A bit of GPU/Ram retail therapy today (never a good idea when knackered) & it's just dawned that I think I've cocked up with the ram: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00J8E90NW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 and it isn't compatible with my old Motherboard: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449#ov I think the GPU is OK http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NOP536Y?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I'd appreciate your thoughts guys, I'm a little worried that installing will cause major issues & I won't be able to return the ram.

You're fine, probably.  The RAM is not "too slow", it's just that your MB is capable of handling faster RAM.

There is always a very small chance that a particular stick won't play nice with a particular MB, unless you specifically get something on the officially-supported list (usually impossible).  But unless you're buying very high speed RAM that is right at the edge of what the MB supports (not the case here), you'll almost certainly be OK.

The GPU is definitely OK.

If it's slower than the maximum the board can handle, then it will be a little slower than it would be if you had used faster ram, and notably, if you're installing it alongside some faster ram, all ram will run at the slower speed, but it will almost always work.  And more RAM is always better, even if it's a little slower ;)

Ta very much everyone, feel a bit better now but won't be able to relax until it's installed and there aren't any issues.. coming tomorrow, so I'll know soon enough.

Panicked a bit as I didn't realize I'd ordered single channel 8GB ram & my monitor wouldn't pick up the GPU (forgotten to connect both PCI-E cables) but all is well, getting some great performance from the MSI too it's sailing through everything that I used to struggle with on my 670.
