What's with this??

I finally got my gp32 working all snazy and cool in linux... to find out that larger files are not transfering. Anyone have some magic tricks or am I going to have to sit it out with my GPCinema until a newer version of GPLink for linux is updated.

how big are the files?
60-70 megs. Nothing so big that I would have to get rid of my DOTT. B)

Really ? I read that from the page:

Only reading of media is supported, writing is a little bit more difficult so will be added in the future.

An other thing: could you install fpk files with Linux, for example Elf Logic ? I want to try it but I don't have Windows.

The size limit is something just under 4mb (the size pclink seems to stop at for a few seconds before it continues). I keep meaning to take a look at the gplink code to see if I can fix the problem, but I can never find the time :(

As far as I know, build 9 of Firefly's driver does have write support but it's only on a virtual smc (so nothing really gets written to the card). The read support is fantastic though.

Erwan, you can't install a fpk with linux, but there is software around to extract all the files in the package.

I think the linux gplink problem is that it needs to flush the data buffer before it fills up - after it hits the end of it, it crashes. The pause in the gamepark software must be when it does this.

I executed the link fxe from the gp32 and rebooted the system. Mandrake found it fine and made a pretty icon on my desktop.

The SMC was mounted as any other file system and it copied w/o a hitch just by dragging the files.

???

Both, mi amigo.

I didn't check the file contents on the gp32 because it was late and I didn't wanna play any games... but the files were showing on the directory listing and taking up space on the smc.

I'll check the content tonight and make sure nothing funky is going on.

I bet you're using build 9. Have a look near the top of the screen and see how big it's claiming the smc size is. If it shows the true size then it's build 8 and won't write anything. If it only shows 4mb then it's build 9 and what you're copying to is a virtual smc (so you're not actually putting files onto your smc).

Yeah.... It's build 8... and I feel like such a loser.

KDE was showing the files as having transfered and reporting file sizes on the SMC. I guess it really wasn't...

DOH!!

loser loser loser
