I just noticed that the ext port on my gp32 and my samsung phone are the same... you think plugging it into a lighter jack powering it up will fux me over? :)

---
edit:

Just tried the wall jack for my cellphone. Runs fine without batteries :)

Sweet, Im gonna assume the lighter ones will be the same.

hey youre right. THe adapter is indeed 5v. Well I played two hours @ 150mhz and nothing happened. Ill stop now :(

UPDATE:
Ive checked my Sammy's battery.
Its a 3.7 li ion. Im guessing it can control its own output and the max is 5v.

Hi !

There are some kind of PSUs for the cigarette lighter that have adjustable voltage that begin with 3V. Is it a solution ?

I think it's better to use rechargable batteries. They have such a big capacity that you can play for many hours.

Greetings

Tobias

You'll most likely find that the 3.7V battery requires 5V to charge it (this is normally the case). The internals of the phone probably run at 3.3V.

yea you always need more voltage to charge than the battery puts out.
Your phone has a regulator to bring down the 5v so it can operate while plugged in

Since the EXT port wasnt made for power input i'd be surprised if they put a voltage regulator on it at all

all im saying is beccarful

and... if you do bust it, ill buy the brokn console off of you

If you live in the UK I got a damaged GP32 up on Ebay :D

hhhmmm why not just get one of them in car ciagrette adaptors that have the multiple ends on that you can switch over and you can switch Voltage from 3 Volts to 12 Volts DC??

hrm well lets see it th is way
its passive in its actions. I'm not much of a electro techi so I wouldnt know the correct wording for it

as in itll turn on when plugged in even if the power switch is off, just like my sammy phone.
Maybe they just ordered a bunch of the stuff sammy made which were supposed to go in phones anyways.
