Corporate games suck.
Let's make an email newsletter for all GP2X owners. Why? Let me explain:
Many people visit these and other forums and are quite well informed about the going ons in the GP32 scene. However, it takes some effort and dedication to keep up to date with all the stuff happening. The percentage of GP32 owners checking a scene site weekly or more often is higher than with all other handhelds but I still think it's below 25%. Many people don't have the time or they loose interest after a while or maybe they simply forget it. We don't want those people to miss important emulator releases and especially not commercial game releases. So we spam them with emails.
What do we need?
I feel up to the job of supervising the content, collecting it and putting it all together. However I need someone to do the technical side. Setting up an automated subscribing/unsubscribing system etc. Anyone up for this task?
It would be great if distributors could notify all their buyers of the existence of the newsletter and tell them to sign up, that would make it much easier to spread. But we'll see about that when we've got it up and running.
What should be in the newsletter?
I'd say there should be an issue every 2-4 weeks, depending on the amount of news, of course. If important things happen, there can be special issues.
Content:
Commercial Games
-News
-Releases
Homebrew Releases
-Emulators
-Games
-Other
Press
-Links to game reviews
-Links to other articles
Other
-Firmware updates
-Hardware news
-Whatever
Comments? Ideas? Help offerings?
