Good But Not Too Expensive 19" Tft Monitors?

internet definatly, you mostly save more than 100£ shopping on the internet on flat screens.
otherwise just find a screen you like and put it on price runner or something or froogal.

Saw a 19" TFT monitor going for $190 at Office Depot over here in the states... I imagine you'll just have to wait for a sale or something ;)

I can't see anything horribly wrong with this one (widescreen, 224€) or this one (standard 19", 217€). Both companies have other monitors in your price-bracket too, and they both ship to other countries (ordering from Computer Universe is slightly easier as you can use their site in English).

Spec-wise you want something with (for this size of monitor):

a low refresh time (for this size of monitor you want 8ms or lower).
a high contrast ratio (600:1 or more would be my preference)
a high brightness (300 cd/m2 would be good)

Both monitors I linked are VGA-only connections; they don't do DVI. If you're desperate for DVI (again, on a 19" monitor I personally wouldn't care) then you're should up increase your budget a little. VGA/DVI is usually the differentiator between the lower and higher priced monitors.

(Edited to add spec suggestions).

I'd really recommend viewing them in person first before buying. If you're based in the uk, you could always go into PC World. The £199 19" Xerox's are great with their glass fronts. 8ms response rate, 500:1 contrast, 300 brightness, dvi input. You'll have to ask a staff member when you're there, as they don't advertise the fact that they're for sale. I picked up a 17" one for £159, and I'm very happy with it - I can't find it cheaper online, and there'd have been no hassle taking it back if it was full of dead pixels (which it wasn't). I'd better stop here before I start putting on a purple PC World salesman shirt.
