Well looks like the 4chan party van has rolled in and the btards are fighting on the side of justice for once.

Here you'll see a video of a girl nonchalantly throwing puppies into a river to drown. If you're of weak stomach, don't watch - I couldn't get past puppy number two. Anyway, I noticed that 4chan (well...the ones that aren't mentally handicapped) seem to be on the case and have thrown up an amazing amount of info, as you'll see here (NSFW).

I'm just pretty disgusted about this, I can't believe there are people about that would do something like this with a smile on their face. It's horrifying.

EDIT: Oh wow, don't even bother clicking that 4chan link, I've only been reading 5 minutes and already seen a picture of an aborted foetus.

Just take my word for it when I say they have a lot of information about this girl now - like her facebook.

I don't like 4chan justice. This isn't the first time they've banded together to make some perpetrators life hell and it won't be the last. The problem is, they don't always get it right: sometimes someone is shown doing something taken out of context, was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, or the person makes a bad judgment call and is already suffering the consequences, and along comes 4chan to post this persons personal information, send death threats, generally harass them over what should have been a private matter.
And these threats and harassment? What do they accomplish? A police escort, sometimes FBI involvement: they're costing tax payers sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars to do nothing but make one person (sometimes a family, very often several entirely innocent people as well) suffer, many of whom already feel bad over what happened. And for true crimes already being handled by the police, these threats are just distractions they don't need. A wise lawyer can even use them as leverage to get a lighter sentence if it's the kind of crime that would result in an extended stay. Everybody loses!
Harassing and threatening people, even if they are "evil" enough to throw puppies in a river, does far more harm than good. They want to help? Find out all this information about her and then send it to the police! Last I heard, cruelty to animals is an offense under the criminal code and subject to jail time. If they do all this research in advance, the power of the mob with a million eyes finding things that a detective might miss, the police can build an even stronger case with fewer resources. Everybody wins, except the perpetrator who receives a more appropriate punishment for their crime.

I was thinking that reporting this person to the police would be the best option too. But that seems to miss the point for the people who want any excuse to personally harass others, and those who enjoy the feelings of power and control that come from being able to mobilize others to cause significant damage.

I haven't watched the videos or read any of the links (since they're NSFW) but I have a feeling that no matter what this person has done she's going to be in for something far worse.

PUPPIES!!!!!

So cute

Just think of the river as a giant bucket and all will be well.

The likely motivation of this is explained here. This is typical in some remote locations in third world countries at least in east Europe, people involved are usually poor and alcoholism is common. Putting unwanted litter of kittens or puppies into some bag and throwing that into river is almost "default" option there, I actually heard about somebody having done that. There is no point reporting this to local police, it's so common that they will just not care.

Yeah no, I've never been a fan of 4Chan. I think any group who trade child porn like pokemon cards and then get up in arms about animal cruelty seriously needs to get it's morals straight. But you have to admit, it's seriously cool (and also very scary) that within a few hours, they had full access to this girl's facebook, myspace, youtube account etc.

And yeah maybe they have to throw puppies in rivers to control the population, but she was enjoying it (see "wheeeee"). And that still makes her a bitch.

The child porn like pokemon cards line is honestly the funniest thing I've heard all day.

Also, no one that gleefully tosses living puppies into a river is in any way a good person.

Unless they've genetically altered the puppies to have gills.

In which case they've created the first aquatic puppies. If the need was REALLY there for them to have euthanized the puppies, there are less violent alternatives. She could've put them in a closed space with some automobile fumes or something. They pass out from lack of oxygen and die in their sleep - Doesn't sound as horrible as tossing them, in a river to drown.

Or maybe I, too, am a psychopath. Either way, this is just wrong, and as much as I dislike the 4chan community I hope they rip off her head and shit down her neck. At least metaphorically speaking.

Oh good grief. Mob rule is one of the better disagreements I have over this kind of internet 'anarchism'. And liking animals means pretty much nothing, hitler liked of them. There, I invoked the law to kill the discussion. But seriously, 4chan is nothing but nihilists who hate humans and who like their petty little power games. And thankfully I'm small enough that they won't notice me. See, this isn't justice (however debased the term might be nowadays), nor is it innocent until proven guilty, since I have to be afraid of the mob waving their banhammer at me for disagreeing.

For the ones who read the thread, was there anyone who said, 'wait, it's just a dog or two, maybe there's a reason?'
Thought not.

I had to learn this poem at school.

Seamus Heaney

The Early Purges

I was six when I first saw kittens drown.
Don Taggart pitched them, 'the scraggy wee shits',
Into a bucket; a frail metal sound,

Soft paws scraping like mad. But their tiny din
Was soon soused. They were slung on the snout
Of the pump and the water pumped in.

'Sure isn't it better for them now?' Dan said.
Like wet gloves they bobbed and shone till he sluiced
Them out on the dunghill, glossy and dead.

Suddenly frightened, for days I sadly hung
Round the yard, watching the three sogged remains
Turn mealy and crisp as old summer dung

Until I forgot them. But the fear came back
When Dan trapped big rats, snared rabbits, shot crows
Or, with a sickening tug, pulled old hens' necks.

Still, living displaces false sentiments
And now, when shrill pups are prodded to drown,
I just shrug, 'Bloody pups'. It makes sense:

'Prevention of cruelty' talk cuts ice in town
Where they consider death unnatural
But on well-run farms pests have to be kept down.

I think that about sums it up.

Regardless of whether or not you feel emotional attachment to an animal doesn't mean drowning them in a river is a proper method of euthanization. Animals have brains and nerves capable of feeling pain too, jackass.

If you're talking to me, then I think you misunderstand.

I'm not saying it's right, but I'm saying that there are different cultural views on this.

Heaney's poem was trying to say how his natural reaction was to be sickened and scared. It is the reaction we all have... but he also had to face real life.

Funny thing is that probably everyone criticizing the girl has been cruel to animals or maybe even are. Don't forget insects and fish are animals too.

Also I believe you can't judge anyone based on a small clip on internet. I find the whole process of hunting down this girl on internet more disturbing than the movie. Now it is a girl throwing dogs in a river, next day it is you cowardly running away from a terrible accident you just couldn't face.

Like I said, my problem is more the glee she demonstrated whilst doing it. It's freaking disturbing.

EDIT: Someguy, did you read it in the AQA "Anthology"?

Yeah, I believe so. Our teacher chose it, so everyone had to write about it in their exam. This was quite a long time ago... do they still teach Heaney?

There was some other one about digging or such crap.
