just curious, but anyone remember that one website all about the new up and coming GBA emulator for the gp32? well, seems the site isnt as flash as it used to be and looks like there is no real news. seems to me its either put on the back burner or maybe forgotten all together.

anyone with any new news about the emulator, author, or project status? or will it ever be possible? i was really looking forward to having a good emulator going for the gp32. hope sometime soon we all can see it in the near future.

Dude, don't expect full speed GBA emulation with sound and all that. It sounds like you bought the GP32 expecting that it could emulate the GBA perfectly, but that's pushing it's limits. I haven't heard any news from it in a while. I always get redirected now whenever I tried to access the page.

not really, i didnt buy my gp32 for the gba emulation. i actually bought it for c64,nes, snes and genesis emulation. and divx and ogg vorbis playback. i thought that through my time of owning my gp32, it would be a nice bonus to play gba as well.

i dont want to run out and buy a gba when i could possibly play it on something else. lol but i guess its just a dream.

I didn't say you bought it for GBA emulation. I said you bought it expecting GBA emulation, basically meaning that you thought GBA emulation was really and fully possible. /.?

Odds are, we won't have a full speed GBA emu with sound, infact, odds are we won't even have a full speed GBA emu without sound. This is just a small project that was in Pre-Alpha stage, so you should'nt have expected a whole lot out of it. Many people are mislead that the GP32 can easily handle GBA emulation...

Basically, don't keep your hopes up for GBA emulation.

i think somepeople are working on it but in secret.

i think if people but heavy optimisation in the code, a decent speed could be achived.

i acually bought mine 4 nes and gameboy/color and was hoping 4 gba emulation. but we need to "hunt" down these ppl who r working on it and beat them with sacks of money

I bought mine for SNES emulation.. Wants to play ff6 with sound at a reasonably speed.... thats all I want

Although now I mostly play NES...

i baught mine for genesis(B4 there was even a genesis emu), ms, pce, nes, snes, st

plus doom and scummvm where a big +

i couldnt care less about gba emulation

This should be a big priority, a full GBA emulator would be good for the community, it would draw in a lot of people.
Then again most of them will probally be dumb 13 year olds who don't want to spend their pocket money on GBA games...
hmm...

for me the whole concept of getting the gp32 was to get as far away from the piece of shite port machine known as the gba. :p
I don't know why everyone wants one so much.

kknd_cf just wondering if your avatar are the tree spirit thingies off princess mononoke?
its a cool film that...

if everything goes right, this summer i will develop a cash management software for gp, and if i buy that mathematical recipies book, maybe a calculator (but really i heard about a palmos open source calc software, that could be ported)

so maybe sooner or later some grandma will come here and say: i've bougth it to aid me in shopping :p

...... yeeaaaah..... .... .... probably.... .... not

Anyways. Of course a gba-emu could be done. The GP32 has a similar architecture to the GBA and it *could* work. Maybe you would need a 32MB Ram upgrade or something similar, but theoretically it could work.
But for coding that you need some really good coders with a massive freetime on their hands...

To speed up the development and attract new coders, you could maybe start a competition similar to the N64-one on the xbox (which was a total failure, but anyways - now they have got a emu).

I'm slightly curious... why not just get a GBA (and if you want lots of Roms a flash linker?)

Probably makes more sense in the long run?

I like just having the classic games on GP32, GBA emulation would probably be a bit jerky and wouldn't live up to a real GBA.

What we need is a PalmOS emu. Can't be /that/ difficult to write, as most PalmOS apps are 68K anyway, and we have a nice fast 68K asm core :)
