Found this the other day:

Seems to be an open source flash player that works up to flashv7. Anybody think it could be used to make a flash player for the 2x?

I mean, right now we have to turn flash into mpg or divx, and it usually turns out to be out-of-sync :( So methinks it would be a useful project.

Well it needs OpenGL right now, although seems they are looking at porting it to Cairo, or even plain framebuffers, which means it could well be portable in the future.

I've done a port of Gplflash, the predecessor of gnash project, which uses a framebuffer... It's not enough quick for reading big animations. For example, a Happy Tree Friends movie works quiet slow. However, that works up to flash v7 and it doesn't support action script.
-Gp2x executable.
-Source.

sorry if this is a noob question, but is flv the same thing as a flash file, or is it considered a seperate video format. Because if there could be some kind of dedicated flv player then youtube videos could be easily watched.

Unless I'm mistaken, there is no sound in this version.

I have tried it with several files, although most play fast enough at 266, just no sound :(

Maybe even something that just parses out the sound and pipes it to libmad or madplay or something?
