Flash Player?

I seriously doubt this is in any way possible, but considering the joy the very thought of watching Bonus Stage or playing Nanaca Crash on the GP2X fills me with I thought I should ask.

Anyone particularly familiar with the open Flash project? I know it exists, I know it's active, but does it even have a halfway working release? The type of games played in flash are just what everyone wants on the GP2X, so this would be a real treat, assuming it's even possible.

Doesn't Macromedia have SDKs of the Flash player? I don't know if they have the source for it out though.

I agree. I would love to have a Flash emulator. Playing Alien Hominid would be really sweet.

The question is, how well would flash work? I often get graphic intense flash movies lagging this 2000mhz PC. I have a feeling it'll be a lot worse on a 200mhz cpu.

No reason for someone to not give it a try, though. :-)

What about flash lite, what is that all about?

I would REALLY enjoy a flash player, there are so many great flash games already out.

Skitzo: That's because it's high resolution and you're running it on top of a hell of a lot of other stuff.

On the GP2X, simply downshift to low graphics settings and run it as a dedicated application. Really, generally speaking, most Flash games are very lightweight. Exceptions include that 3D, UT-like shooter. Flash is very versatile, but I believe it is sort of a modern BASIC - severely hampered and not great for anything beyond simple applications. At those simple applications it does quite nicely.

Meh, probably, though I don't think any phones have ARM processors, and that's where it gets you...
