... not really.

Can you remember the annoyance of being the orange one. Fair fight it ain't.

Is there a worse fair pairing for a 2 player battle than this?

I've heard that in Battletoads, there's apparently a bug in the second to last level preventing the second player from even moving when he is spawned.

Though I cannot confirm this as I've never gotten that far in Battletoads in two player mode (usually, most friendships will terminate at about the third stage).

Being the orange I clearly see you are flying a b-17, so that should be fair enough!

I remember this, but talking about fair game reminds me of KOF bosses like Rugal and so on, that is not fair!

guess he speaks about the 1 or 2 unavoidable blue shell you'll receive when you are in first position... and they are nasty... their only good point is that they can also take down the second kart if he's too near...

In Mario Kart 64, blue shells would also take out any drivers daft enough not to get out of the way, no matter what place they were in. :p (Blue shells weren't airborne back then - they stuck to the road, just like all of the other types of shells.)

and theses ones were definately better

Mario Party is one of the most unfair games I've played, I have never one against my friends because the luck element of the game always screws me over

Ah, that. I never thought they were that unfair, gives the other racers a chance to catch up.

If the leader was extremely far ahead, perhaps, but for the most part all it did was put someone who was just about to cross the finish line all the way back near last place. There is nothing fair about driving an awesome race and then having your victory inevitably (because the only way to avoid it is with star power) snatched away. The best I could do is when I heard the shell coming I'd slam on the brakes so at the least it would hit second and maybe third place, give me a chance to not be dead last.

I'll take your word for it, but I don't have many memories of it being that bad (strictly speaking about MarioKart 64, I haven't played too much of the other ones, surprisingly).

The blue shells became extremely unfair in Mario Kart Double Dash!! and Mario Kart Wii, and they're even worse in Mario Kart DS, unfortunately. I don't recall seeing as many of them in Mario Kart 7, for some reason...

I do wish they'd go back to the Mario Kart 64-style blue shells and red shells, though (with the latter, they weren't infallible in Mario Kart 64, but they weren't stupid either as they are in Mario Kart 7 - it took some skill to be able to outrun them).

actually, i think theyre going for the unfair thing, and not skill based. at least thats the impression i get, until you get to the online multiplayer, than you just notice how much you actually suck at mario kart

Apparently they fixed this in the Japanese version, which they also made easier in other ways. I'd personally love to find someone I can 2p Battletoads with :B
